
Eva Olivia Leontien Lantsoght
Dr. Lantsoght is a Full Professor at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Quito, Ecuador) and an Associate Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft (Delft, Netherlands). Her field of research is the design and analysis of concrete structures and assessment of existing concrete bridges, with a focus on load testing. Dr. Lantsoght is the Secretary of the technical committee of the Transportation Research Board on Testing and Evaluation of Transportation Structures (AKB-40) and Chair of AKB-40(1) Nondestructive Evaluation. She is the chair of the IABMAS Technical Committee on Bridge Load Testing and member of the Executive Committee of IABMAS, and recipient of the 2020 IABMAS Junior Prize in recognition to her contributions to the field of bridge engineering. She is a voting member of the technical committees of the American Concrete Institute and Deutscher Ausschuß für Stahlbeton Shear Databases (ACI-DAfStb-445-D), Secretary of the joint ACI-ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) committee on Design of Reinforced Concrete Slabs (ACI-ASCE 421), Chair of the Committee on Torsion (ACI 445-E) and a voting member of the ACI Committees on Evaluation of Concrete Bridges and Concrete Bridge Elements (ACI 342) and on Shear and Torsion (ACI-ASCE 445), as well as an associate member of the Committee on Strength Evaluation of Existing Concrete Structures (ACI 437). She is the recipient of the 2024 ACI Mete A. Sozen Award for Excellence in Structural Research. Within IABSE (International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering), she is the Vice Chair of the editorial board of the journal Structural Engineering International and member of the awards jury in the category of Projects and Technology. Additionally, Dr. Lantsoght is passionate about doctoral education, and manages the PhD Talk blog and co-hosts the PhD Talk podcast.
