Cyber-Threat Mitigation in an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Enabled Airspace System: A Multi-Scale Dynamical Network Approach


Abstract:

Impacts of potential cyber-threats in a future UAS-enabled airspace system are examined. In particular, a multi-resolution model is introduced, which dually captures: 1) cyber-attack impacts on aircraft trajectories within a region of interest and 2) consequent impacts on traffic flows across a wide area. In the paper, the model is motivated and described in detail. A small-scale simulation of the model is also presented, to illustrate its use in threat analysis and mitigation.
