DC voltage ripple estimation in high performance electric power-trains
Abstract:
An analytical approach to estimate the DC voltage ripple in high performance electric power-trains is proposed in this paper. The approach considers the effects due to the short time constant τ = L/R associated to high speed automotive PM machines, particularly looking at the phase current ripple. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the given formulas. The different components in the test rig are compared to similar elements reported in the literature or used in vehicles already available in the market to stress the significance of this work.
