DIRECT PULP CAPPING AS A CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT TECHNIQUE
Abstract:
Direct Pulp Protection (DPP) is performed when there is a pulp wound exposed by deep caries excavation or by a procedural accident. It is performed directly with the use of materials such as Calcium Hydroxide (CaOH22), Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), and Biodentine. The objective of this literature review is to analyze the success rates of the application of these materials, including variables such as pre-exposure diagnosis, bleeding time, hemostasis, control and follow-up through the uof search engines such as: Sciencedirect, Pudmed, Scielo, Proquest, Springer, EBSCOhost, Wiley, which allow determining the favorable conditions to maintain this treatment as a valid therapeutic option. After selecting the studies that meet the established criteria, it was possible to determine that the success rates of the materials used for PPD were 74.62% CaOH2, 89.78% Biodentine and 90.39% MTA.
