DNA polymorphism and molecular subtyping of the capsular gene cluster of group B Streptococcus

Abstract:

Serotyping and other phenotypic methods are often used to characterize the capsular polysaccharide of group B streptococci (GBS). We describe a capsular genotyping method that utilizes PCR of capsular polysaccharide synthesis genes (cps) and restriction enzyme digestion.
