Data Recovery Protocol Proposal for SSD Disks

Abstract:

This work performs a series of analysis of allocation and subsequent recovery of information through File Carving techniques to solid state storage devices (SSD), in several scenarios of loss of information, both accidental and intentional, and based on these experimental results it is proposed a protocol that seeks to contribute to the work of the computer expert in the process of data recovery as a tool for gathering evidence within the process of generating the evidence. In addition, a free software application called: Carvers Suite is proposed, in which this protocol has been implemented as a validation mechanism for this study, the same that was evaluated through experimentation against other paid applications with the objective of evaluating the performance of the implemented protocol, product of this investigation. The product of this work is the generation of a Protocol for recovering data on SSD using file carving techniques.
