Absorptive Capacity, Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Innovative Behavior

Abstract:

Currently, companies must create an environment that encourages innovative behavior among their employees. Opening up to external sources of knowledge and the active participation of employees applying this knowledge to innovate can be a source of competitive advantage for companies. The objective of this study is to analyze the influence that the capacity to absorb knowledge and organizational citizen behavior have on the innovative behavior of individuals. The study has a non-experimental cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach and correlational scope and was carried out in the city of Guayaquil with a sample of 123 professionals working in different companies. Using a structural equation model, it was found that the capacity to absorb knowledge in its acquisition and transformation dimensions positively influences innovative behavior, as does citizen behavior in its organizational dimension.
