Abstract:

The purpose of creating an Ecotourism Estate in theupper part of San Cristobal Island is to establish new sources of income and improve the tourism activity of the sector in a responsible and progressive way; The tourism potential that is found in the Galapagos is observed and it is very important to incorporate the ecotourism part to increase the development of the rural areas benefiting the archipelago and the country. The delivery of this research, aims to contribute to the tourism growth of San Cristobal Island and the rural area of the high zone, thus achieving, attract a selective target of eco tourists who are in favor of a more conscious tourism, Directed to the new tendencies of care and observation of the natural areas, making them participants of activities that allow them to be in contact withthe nature of the island. Therefore, this study focused on the development ofa business plan for the implementation of an ecotourism farm in the upper area of the island of San Cristobal in the Galapagos province, in the same way it was demonstrated its viability with an initial investment of $ 499.764,82, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) $ 783.593,53 an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 51,27% and an estimate of the initial investment payback in two years approximately.
