Desarrollo de un prototipo de producto bio-estimulante para el crecimiento de orquídeas basado en hongos micorrízicos.

Abstract:

The creation of a product based on orchid mycorrhizal fungi is an unexplored bioprospecting field in Ecuador. A first step to obtain products based on fungi, is to try alternative means that allow to increase the production of mycelium. The objective of the present study was to establish a protocol for the reproduction and conservation of the mycelium of three strains of orchid mycorrhizal fungi, two of Ceratobasidium spp. (strains 101 and 200) and one of Tulasnella sp. (strain 63), in order to obtain a prototype of a bio-stimulant product for the cultivation of orchids. The mycelial growth rate of the fungi on three lignocellulosic substrates mixed with potato dextrose agar (PDA) was quantified: Rice husk and wood of Alnus acumunata. A control in PDA medium was used. The reactivation of mycelium after encapsulation in sodium alginate and refrigerated storage at 4 ° C for three months was evaluated. The highest diameters were observed for the fungi Ceratobasidium sp. 200 in the treatment wood + PDA (87.2 mm) and Tulasnella sp. 63 in the treatment rice husk + PDA (85.1 mm). A viability of 100% of sodium alginate encapsulated mycelium.
