Access, permanence and graduation of mother students and inclusive education


Abstract:

The research analyzes the educational studied of student mothers, as well as the relationship with legal regulations concerning the principles of inclusive education and factors related to institutional capacities. The proposal objective was to analyze the access, permanence and qualification of student mothers within the framework of the principle of inclusive education in the nursing career at the National University of Loja, Ecuador, during the period May-September 2020. A methodology with a cross-sectional mixed approach was proposed; The population object of study from the quantitative approach was formed by the universe of student mothers, that is, twenty-five students whom an online survey was applied; From the qualitative approach the sampling criterion was for convenience, applying a structured interview to six officials of the institution (Five teachers and a Director of the University Welfare Unit). The most relevant results showed that the education of student mothers within the higher education system, in addition to addressing economic factors, encompasses a set of social, psychological, health and cultural factors, concluding that, combined each other, affect the life project of the students and their families.
