Desarrollo y Evaluación de experiencia piloto de mentoría con estudiantes de primer ciclo de Educación Superior a Distancia, Centro Universitario Esmeraldas
Abstract:
Guidance and mentoring is an alternative to improve the education system for children and youth, to organize time, study habits and allows to offer help and counseling to many students who do not find the compass and only think about dropping out . The importance of guiding students to help them fix lies in meeting its goals and objectives, mentors play an important role during the mentoring process, so the government is currently proposing new strategies to improve the education system, including those strategies include mentoring programs in some institutions have already been launched. During this study it was possible to visualize the many difficulties presented by the students of junior college especially open and distance modality Associated Center of Esmeraldas Private Technical University of Loja; difficulties become educational needs, adaptation and integration needs and counseling needs, so it worked based on those needs, using the following methods that helped uncover the needs described above: action research, descriptive, analytical synthetic, deductive and inductive statistical method; very important and decisive techniques were also used in the achievement of the required information such as: reading, summarizing and paraphrasing, observation, interviews and focus groups; some instruments that allowed collecting valuable information: information sheet data format expectations and fears, questionnaires 1 and 2 of counseling needs, among others. orientation workshops, time management workshops, advice on study habits and continuous assessments about the mentoring process was performed, The university is obliged to offer all services that facilitate the educational process of young people, so that the retention of students and meeting their goals is ensured, including such services is important guidance, since it is what allows for Somehow advise students to avoid student failure.
