Abstract:

Background: The syndrome of professional burnout, defined as such in the 70s, is a state of complete physical, emotional and mental fatigue, affecting three areas: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal fulfillment. Objective: to implement prevention strategies to reduce the exhaustion caused by overwork in the nurses of this health home. Methods: A field, descriptive, correlational, and bibliographical study was carried out, the components of this investigation being the attitude and knowledge of the nursing staff of the Burnout Syndrome, using the survey and interview as the main instruments, with the objective of diagnosing the current situation and its relationship with the variables under study. Results: It was evidenced that the presence of the syndrome of professional burnout exists but in a minimum percentage, but it is possible to observe important percentages of tendency to suffer the syndrome, that acting in time we can prevent it. Conclusions: With the implementation of preventive strategies for safe occupational health a significant change wasachieved, both in the conceptualization of what is the Burnout Syndrome, as well as in the awareness of occupational health.
