Design and Fabrication of Two-Row Self-Propelled Paddy Transplanter Machine


Abstract:

Agriculture industry in the Philippines is one of the most important aspects in the nation's economic growth and one of the well-known local resources in the Philippines is rice crops. This paper anticipates helping the ease in production of a good quality of rice by introducing a remote-controlled paddy transplanter machine that can provide an accurate planting depth and paddy distances. In this innovation of a mechanical transplanter in the Philippines, it has a remote-control system consisting of an Arduino microcontroller, Bluetooth module, and other electronics component to make the transplanter move and operate by simply pressing the start and stop button on the software installed on the smartphone. The evaluation of the test results of the remote-controlled transplanter machine shows that it can transplant the paddy at a depth of 1.5 cm and paddy distance of 25 cm x 25 cm. Overall, the researchers were able to design, fabricate, and test the transplanter machine that has an effectiveness of 85% and 82.5% on the actual testing on the rice field.
