Design and Implementation of a Hydro-Energetic System in Water Distribution Networks

Abstract:

This thesis details the design and implementation of a prototype for hydro-energetic use in water distribution networks. The prototype is composed of two main systems. On one hand, the generation system, which is in charge of transforming the kinetic energy of water into electrical energy using microturbines, charge regulators and batteries. The second one is the drive and telemetry system. It controls whether the generation units turn on or off as well as allowing remote monitoring of electrical parameters such as power, voltage and current of each unit. The device that monitors the generation units is connected to the charge controller through an RS232 interface and enables acquiring the desired electrical parameters to later store them in an Internet of Things platform to visualize them through the Internet.
