Design and Implementation of an Avatar Personalization System in a Virtual World Campus 3D UTPL


Abstract:

Personalization systems are fundamental in virtual worlds because they are immersive spaces that offer the possibility for users to interact and collaborate in real time. This article shows the aspects considered for the design and implementation of the avatar personalization system of the Virtual World (VM) UTPL 3D campus. The methodology followed includes the phases of: analysis, design, development, implementation, testing and results. As a result, an avatar customization system was obtained that allows greater interaction and collaboration among users of the MV campus 3D UTPL, which is deployed on the Web to be used within any browser. The contribution of this study is to provide an avatar customization system that can be integrated into other VMs developed in Unity. A future line of research is the creation of avatars using frames.
