Design and construction of an experimental prototype for the evaluation of the thermal response of precast elements

Abstract:

The objective of this work to design a test equipment to obtain real thermal resistance data and apply it in the fabrication of prefabricated walls. To achieve this, ASTM C-177 was used, which indicated that the APCG equipment should have a hot plate and cold plate, both made of aluminum, and between them, the sample, of known area and thickness, was placed where the surface temperatures of both faces were acquired to determine the thermal conductivity using the Fourier law of heat conduction. The results obtained of thermal conductivity of the material given by the client were 0,027 W/mK, with an average temperature gradient of 40.56ºC. The structural simulation and tests carried out show that the equipment complies with the parameters given by the standard and the results obtained do not exceed 10% error with the data given by the sample manufacturer.
