Design and location analysis of fast charging hybrid vehicle stations. A case study from Ecuador
Abstract:
The entry of electric vehicles into the Ecuadorian market has created a lack of charging points, and several solutions may be considered for this problem regarding the elements of each charge point, and its ability to provide a fast load. Matlab Simulink was used to simulate harmonics, to determine the amount of harmonics presented both in the secondary windings of the transformer, and in the network, by means of Fast Fourier Analysis. Simulations in CYMDIST were performed to consider four scenarios, from having a vehicle charged to having four vehicles charged; for this, a load flow was created for each power line with respective loads, and each fast charging station was connected in order to verify and analyse the voltage profile in each case.
