Design of Lighting Systems using Solar Energy Sources for Rural Outdoor use: Case Study of the Guapán Hot Springs Tourism Project

Abstract:

In this research we present the main factors that influence the consideration of a photovoltaic solar energy supply system with a view to electrifying rural areas with potential for tourist growth. This is one of the projects that contribute to the energy transition carried out by Ecuador and are pigeonholed within the National Plan All a Life. Given the favorable conditions in the central area of the country, this project is located in the town of Guapán in southern Ecuador, it has the potential to be a substantial project for tourist and economic growth, however in this first phase a system is required lighting according to the area of influence. The installation incorporates all the elements and features necessary to guarantee the quality and reliability of the electricity supply, contributing to the diversification of energy consumption and encouraging citizens to use clean technologies.
