"Importancia de la eliminación del poder del veto a los miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad"

Abstract:

This thesis looks forward the analysis of the importance of eliminating the veto power to the permanent members of the Security Council of the United Nations Organization, through a thorough historical and bibliological investigation, aiming the adoption of the recommendation hereof presented to the member states to quit to that privilege for going against the juridical equality of the states and constituting anachronism in these days. This investigation manifests the importance of the elimination of the veto power given the fact that this privilege goes against the principles upheld in this XXIth century, which are not only the existence of a world without frontiers, but also a world more just, humane and equal. In this thesis, readers will be able to realize, based on the texts consulted , that the fundaments of this and other international organisms, obey ancient conceptions and forms of world´s administration that are ineffective and inefficient to conquer peace in the different areas of the world. Taking note of this, this thesis also presents proposals for change and possible solutions to. For this reason, throughout a general interview performed during a class session, to students and professors of the masters of International Sciences and Diplomacy, at the Instuto Superior de Posgrado of the city of Guayaquil, it was concluded that although the proposal of eliminating the veto power may seem unenforceable, there are plenty of things that Ecuador, as a member of the United Nations, can do in order to achieve progress in the effect other members have in the decision-making process of the Security Council, opening the gate for Ecuador, or any other country, to be considered to have a set in the Security Council of the United Nations, in case the elimination of the veto power is, as it seems, next to impossible.
