Determinantes socioeconómicos de la fecundidad de los hogares en Cuba
Abstract:
In this paper, the effects of a set of socioeconomic determinants on the recent fertility decisions of a household are analyzed for Cuba. The aim of this research, therefore, is to analyze the effects of these socioeconomic determinants on the fecundity of households in the country. To do this, we use an empirical analysis based on the estimation of a Probit model for the year 2013, which allows us to conclude the probability of a household having children under six years of age, and the decrease in the extent to which households have higher Levels of schooling, more average potential work experience and higher monetary incomes. In contrast, this probability increases with the average age of the nucleus, existence of housewives, elderly and employed women; And in the cores with pairs, the latter’s access to the currency, in a country with double currency and residing in the eastern region.
