Determinar la sostenibilidad de la producción cacaotera en el ámbito de la agricultura familiar en la parroquia Balzapamba, provincia del Bolívar


Abstract:

SUMMARY The investigation was made in the area of Balzapamba in the sectors of Muñapamba, La plancha, Cañotal and Las Peñas, located in the parish Balzapamba, canton San Miguel to 3 km of the parochial head. The objective of this investigation was to determine the sostenibilidad of the production cacaotera in the environment of the family agriculture. 34 units of agricultural production were investigated and they were distributed in serial spacing with DATUM PSD 94. For the determination of the sostenibilidad the main IGS was used (Leyva, 2008), with the mensuration of dialogue of knowledge, shops of the future, observations and direct mensurations, you interview and informal interviews with the peasants, an analysis FODA and the evaluation of the sustentabilidad. The results determined that to the evaluation it was not more than 8,8 % of the properties with capacity to be considered sustainable plantations, while 58,82 % of the producers has properties that you/they can under certain activities to achieve the sostenibility of their productive systems. 32,35 % of the properties is with serious problems of achieving this process, however they can benefit with the methodology to improve its situation. The use of indicators proposed for the evaluation and comparison of the sustentability of the area, was of easy understanding, adaptation, acceptance and it generated a high participation among the farmers.
