Determination of ecological indexes to support the conservation of forest species in" Jacarón" natural forest.
Abstract:
Ecological indexes were determined by dendrological inventories of three altitudinal belts of the" Jacarón" forest to provide information on the criteria for its conservation. The analysis of data such as density, frequency and dominance, allowed to determine the importance value index of each species in the analyzed community. In addition, the following indexes were calculated: specific richness of Menhinick and Gleason, dominance of Simpson, evenness of Shannon-Wiener, and the similarity coefficients to know the diversity of vegetation. The indexes values showed that there is a good distribution of species in the area. Also, the community does not have dominant species in particular and therefore the diversity is greater meaning that there is an equitable and homogeneous formation. The representative forest species are: Hedyosmum scabrum and Buddleja incana.
