Development of Mobile Robot for HVAC Component Monitoring Using Infrared Thermography


Abstract:

Maintenance inspection is done to identify the major and minor problems that may possibly occur and interrupt the operations of the entire building. One solution is to develop a mobile robot incorporated with infrared thermography. This undergrad thesis shows a design of mobile robot for HVAC system monitoring using infrared thermography. An Arduino Mega was used as the microcontroller for the mobile robot. A GUI from Visual Basic was created to control the movement and action of the mobile robot. Seek Thermal CompactXR was used as the thermal camera for temperature distribution monitoring. An android smartphone was mounted on the pan and tilt mechanism of the robot for visual monitoring.
