Development of a methodological framework for educational innovation in the context of the tutorial action based on agile methodologies and software engineering knowledge standards

Abstract:

The tutorial action is an indispensable learning resource in a higher education environment, which goal is to offer the students support in academic progress, as well as being a fundamental component of the educational action. In the case of the Technical University of Loja despite of having defined a process for the tutorial action, this has been deficient due to the lack of assistance and low interest of the students, without neglecting also the lack of motivation from the teachers. In support of the improvement of the tutorial process, a new model is proposed which will allow a better tutorial interaction between the student and the teacher, supported by TIC, through the use of a mobile application that promotes tutoring, that better organizes the learning time of the participants and records the students doubts. The present hybrid application that we present and that is available for Android and iOS mobile operating systems was implemented based on the agile Scrum development methodology and knowledge standard in engineering context.
