Development of a tele-ECG device

Abstract:

This project involves the implementation of a portable device that allows health providers to access their pa-tients' EKG remotely. We designed and developed a device of small dimensions and low cost, able to acquire the patient's elec-trocardiogram, through a set of sensors and transmit the data wirelessly via Bluetooth to a mobile phone with Android oper-ating system. The information is displayed on the screen of the device and then sent to a medical specialist or clinic for testing. This device consist of an analog signal acquisition stage a digital processing stage, Bluetooth transmission and a software stage for the presentation and management of information on a mo-bile device with Android operating system.
