Development of scientific capabilities in environmental studies in latin america and the caribbean

Abstract:

The objective of this research is to analyze the importance of the execution of programs and research projects for the development of scientific capabilities in environmental studies in Latin America and the Caribbean. The main theoretical foundation was based on the Frascati Handbook (2002). The research was exploratory-descriptive and documentary. The main results revealed that scientific research programs and projects in the environmental area should be addressed interdisciplinary and internationally. It is concluded that environmental research programs and projects should be contextualized and should also consider their multi-causality as well as their risks and inaccuracies as input for the design of research strategies.
