Diagnóstico del nivel de conocimiento y uso de TIC en profesores universitarios en una Institución educativa privada de la ciudad de Quito


Abstract:

Information and communication technology are tools that allow its users to manage information in an efficient manner in todays so called knowledge based society. These tools are protagonists in the learning and teaching methods of individual users. Academics have the responsibility to guide students in the learning process through their agile management of the mentioned IT tools, and reach to their full potential through their leadership as professionals. The purpose of this study is to analyze the different levels of IT know-how of a group of academics based on their gender, age range that require induction in the academic institution. The study undertaken is descriptive, quantitative and transversal, and was undertaken at a determined point of time. In order to collect the necessary information a questionnaire – elaborated by professors of the PROFORTIC project in Spain - was used. The latter consists of 73 questions containing questions about home grown technologies used within the academic institution where the study was conducted. The results reveal that 145 participants of the sample are located within the number range “3” of the knowledge and use scale based on their gender and age range...
