Diferencia de torque y potencia en función del rin del neumático


Abstract:

At the national level a vehicle when it leaves the factory, all its components are original, and there are several users who want to change either aesthetics or use, for this reason there are several automotive shops that recommends the change of these to suit more the personality of the owner , the same ones that for aesthetics and performance make changes such as modifying the size of the wheel and several other components of the vehicle; but in the investigation the Chevrolet Spark LT vehicle of the year 2012, a car very commercialized in Ecuador, with the tire size recommended by the manufacturer and the same vehicle with another "rin" larger than usual, determined which are the differences that are it has with respect to the torque and power that the vehicle shows in high and low revolutions. A torque and power measurement test was performed on a dynamometer which allowed recognizing the differences that exist in the vehicle. The results showed that with a "rin" variation in the test vehicle, a decrease of more than 7% of torque was obtained, and more than 4% of power was obtained. Based on the analysis carried out, it is not advisable for the performance of the vehicle, both in terms of fuel savings and performance, to change the vehicle's rims by a number different from those recommended by the manufacturer.
