Dinero Electrónico como medio de pago en las pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYMES) comerciales de Guayaquil.
Abstract:
The objective of the project is to determine the factors that affect the propensity to use electronic money as a means of payment in small and medium-sized SME companies in Guayaquil, considering that said means of payment was implemented in Ecuador but, after delegating control to private banking, its handling was stopped. In its initial implementation it did not have a significant reception, despite the fact that its objective was focused on favoring financial inclusion, allowing 60% of the Ecuadorian population, who was not a user of the financial system, to access this product. In other countries, electronic money has contributed to this objective, mentioning success stories such as in Kenya and even neighboring countries such as Peru and Colombia where it is already consolidated. To analyze if there is a propensity in its use, a field investigation was carried out through surveys and interviews, thus knowing the interest that the population shows towards its use, considering it a useful, safe and interesting means of payment but still maintaining a greater preference towards money. Physical and fear in its adoption can be justified due to lack of knowledge of the benefits and benefits it offers. Therefore, as a way to promote its use once the implementation by private banking begins, strategies are proposed to awaken the interest of the public in its adoption, educate the user and incentivize it through more attractive benefits.
