Discovering the MOOC information system generic architecture

Abstract:

The purpose of the following study is present the MOOC Information System Generic Architecture as a result of the analysis of quality characteristics found in the literature concerning of MOOC, and the application of the Discovering Hybrid ARchitectures by Modelling Actors (DHARMA) method based on the use of i∗. Generic Architecture refers to the identification of MOOC system actors, the services that must be covered by each one and the relationships between them. The i∗ diagrams allow identifying strategic needs for which a MOOC Information System is required in an organization (pedagogical approach), and express them indicating the specific services that the system must provide (technological approach), grouping related services in atomic domains. Finally, this study shows how the Generic Architecture will guide the future construction of a MOOC software quality model with ISO/IEC 25010 as an instrument to facilitate a systematic and practical evaluation of those characteristics that guarantee the quality and effectiveness of MOOC in the generation of learning.
