Actitud del personal de enfermería ante la muerte del paciente: Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, Azogues 2017.
Abstract:
Background: Death has been for the human being a subject of deep reflection and meditation, from the philosophical, religious and scientific perspective; however it is increasingly difficult to live or accept death, according to Sontag. Several authors point out that each person experiences his or her own dying process in a unique and irreversible way, therefore, there is no one way to live and experience death. Objetive: To determine the Attitude of the Nursing Personnel before the Death of the Patient: Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, Azogues 2017. Methodology: Of quantitative type, descriptive of transversal section. The universe was 203 and the sample of 66 nursing professions that conform the different areas of study: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency and Clinical; for being of greater prevalence in patients' mortality. The "Attitudes to Death Questionnaire" Version 1 was used by Hernández, 1997, because it is the most used and feasible for our investigation, it consists of 33 propositions, which was modified to 24 propositions. The data obtained in the research were processed in the statistical program SPSS 21.0, the analysis of the results was done, using tables and graphs of frequency and percentage. Results: The nursing staff of the "Homero Castanier Crespo" Hospital from a global perspective has different attitudes to death in which they are found, behavioral attitudes with 50%, involving the dimensions of fear with 43.30% and professional perspective with 52.90%. Affective attitudes are represented with 25%, where they are subdivided into avoidance dimensions with 60.71% and acceptance with 50.60%; and finally cognitive attitudes with 25%, which involves the dimensions of passage with 46.88% and solution or exit with 54.46%.
