Diseño de un Sistema de Gestión Ambiental basado en ISO 14001:2015 para el Departamento Ambiental del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado del Cantón Pedro Vicente Maldonado, Provincia de Pichincha, República del Ecuador

Abstract:

This document is the design of an Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001: 2015 for the Decentralized Municipal Government of the Canton Pedro Vicente Maldonado. The main objective has been to design a system that allows the efficiency of municipal environmental management of Canton Pedro Vicente Maldonado through its local government. For this, we have worked with the Directorate of Sustainable Development and Risk Management of the mentioned municipality. Throughout the Initial Environmental Review, several shortcomings and a level of management have been identified that need to be addressed and improved. Through personalized interviews, surveys of municipal staff, discussions with council members, and the elaboration of a RAI questionnaire with the Directorate of Sustainable Development, several results were reached. What is fundamental is the fact that the municipality requires a lot of work in the environmental culture of its personnel and above all, to improve the habits through an awareness process that allows improving the management, with this to mitigate the environmental impacts that directly or indirectly The GADMPVM exercises over the territory. With the information obtained from RAI and the surveys and interviews carried out with the GAD staff and taking as a guide the ISO 14001: 2015 standard, the SGA for the GAD of Pedro Vicente Maldonado is designed.
