Diseño de un corredor gastronómico para contribuir al desarrollo turístico sostenible del área rural del cantón Portoviejo, Manabí, Ecuador
Abstract:
The purpose of the construction of the present research work is to obtain the inputs for the design of a gastronomic corridor to contribute to the sustainable tourist development of the canton of Portoviejo, capital of the province of Manabí, Ecuador. The methodology carried out uses deductive analysis, the synthetic analytical method, the descriptive one, the scientific observation. The investigation involves Three phases: The first delineate the theoretical precepts for the creation of a gastronomic corridor in the study area, obtained through the study of primary bibliography; In the second phase, the tourist diagnosis was drawn up that identifies potential tourist resources and attractions, the current situation of gastronomy and the quality of the tourist infrastructure of the rural parishes of Portoviejo; identifying supply, demand and the problems of the territory; For the collection of this information, the tourist inventory cards (MINTUR 2017), SWOT strategic analysis, GPS, interviews and surveys were used. In the third phase of the creation of the gastronomic product, the layout of the circuit, the marketing strategies of the gastronomic corridor, and the distribution channels that were used for the promotion were established. There are several points to consider, including the need for coordination between state enterprises and private of these ones for the implementation of the gastronomic corridor, with the Municipal Autonomous Government of Portoviejo playing the predominant role as incentive and facilitator; the private sector is the one who must contribute with the financing and revitalization of it; the demand towards the corridor must be channeled through tour operators; the host communities need to be actively involved in the route, and finally the most important link between the product and the destination, is the producer.
