Diseño de un sistema de gestión ambiental bajo la norma ISO 14001: 2004 para la Unidad de Gestión Ambiental de la Administración Zonal Sur Eloy Alfaro del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito

Abstract:

This paper proposes the design of an Environmental Management system under the ISO 14001 2004 standard for the Environmental Management Unit (U.G.A) of the Administración Zonal Sur Eloy Alfaro of the Distrito Metropolitano de Quito. It addresses to the design of an environmental management system based on the ISO standard for the Administración Zonal Zona Sur Eloy Alfaro, in order to identify the environmental aspects and impacts of the institution's processes and relate them to the requirements of the current environmental regulations, Define the environmental policy of the institution with objectives and targets aimed at reducing the significant environmental impacts of its activities. An analytical research summary was performed to diagnose the current situation of the chosen GAD; Then with interviews, surveys of personnel involved and bibliographic review of existing information in the GAD and domain of ISO 14001: 2004, we proceeded to design the EMS considering the structure proposed by this standard, after the design was socialized with the personnel involved, Finally the work was approved and defended before the respective court. For the design of the environmental management system, the whole system of management of the activities of this Administration was considered. The methodology to be used is based on the guidelines established by the international standard "Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001: 2004", which will allow a process of continuous improvement to be established in order to establish environmental objectives, goals and programs aimed at controlling the significant environmental aspects encountered
