Diseño de un sistema de riego automatizado para el cultivo de legumbres en un huerto ubicado en el campus de la UCSG
Abstract:
Agricultural irrigation systems have outdated methods that can be improved with the help of control and automation procedures, so that the water in the environment won’t continue, and the environmental impact of the sea is less serious for nature. This project is focused on the use of microcontrollers whose main objective is to take charge of measuring the variables so that they could meet the intensive requirements for the proper used of water for crops, using accessible sensors and actuators. As part of the implementation process, a scale model was designed and built to simulate the two orchards that act autonomously, and the will provide two variables to the system which are humidity and temperature, and as result the automated irrigation system will provide the right response according to this variables. This irrigation system have two stages. The first stage is to provide the crop with the right amount of water to the plant, and the second stage is to provide the crop with the required temperature. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate that the use of microcontrollers and other electronic elements, to favor these agricultural processes and to optimize the use of this natural resource in risk, and in this way the environmental impact of this type of processes in the industry will reduce significantly.
