Diseño del perfil emprendedor universitario. Caso Universidad de los Hemisferios UDLH y Escuela Politécnica del Ejército ESPE. Quito, 2017


Abstract:

The present study allows to analyze the general and socio-demographic characteristics of the entrepreneurship process of the students of the Universidad de los Hemisferios UDLH and the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE, located in the city of Quito. This research contributes with important data that determines the preference for self-employment, the valuation of the university and its social environment, and the intention to be an entrepreneur. In addition, personal traits and competences have been identified in university students in order to diagnose students' entrepreneurial profile, as well as their knowledge and skills to undertake a process of creation and management of their own businesses. The positive qualities of university students with regard to entrepreneurship have been identified, as well as the weaknesses of the system, which could be improved in order to boost entrepreneurship in university students. Furthermore, substantial and valuable information is of potential use for the universities to help improving their environment. Even more, it can be used to promote entrepreneurial initiatives and business incubators that can invest and support with accompanying services to the entrepreneur and to society as a whole.
