Adapting SQI and SPI specifications to conform restful

Abstract:

Standards and specifications, when widely accepted and used, lay the foundation to enable and ease interoperability among systems, software maintenance and reuse, especially within the scope of learning objects' search systems and repositories. We analyse the problems concerning utilization of two of these specifications SQI (Simple Query Interface) and SPI (Simple Publishing Interface) by the European Committee for Standardization. This paper proposes a transformation of these specifications adapting them to RESTful web services.
