Dispatching Scheduling and Operations Strategy with high capacity of Hydro Generation

Abstract:

In this work, a methodology and operational strategy for the Dispatching Scheduling is proposed when available Spillage in the reservoirs system by excess hydroelectricity over demand. Prior-dispatching information is used for decision making for and obtain a modified dispatching. The methodology distribute excess energy, based on the decrease in power of all generators except central in spillage and ENRC, using a Participation Factor (FP) based on an assessment of the power delivered generation units. Participation Factor decreases the generation dispatch at each plant that is not in spillage, based on an apportionment of the powers dispensed at each plant and excess power obtained from the pre-dispatch. The FP has a binary variable with a value of 0 for the plants in shedding not involved in the apportionment, and 1 for participating. Applying the proposed participation factor is able to reduce power delivered and distribute excess power hours, maintaining an economic dispatch. Operational strategies are defined in the short term for dispatch the next day with feedback from the weekly schedule.
