Distributed Architecture for Large Scale Simulation to Estimate CO Vehicles Emissions
Abstract:
Quito is a crowded city in Ecuador with several urban mobility issues. These problems are mainly related to geographical characteristics. There are few comprehensive studies about the traffic of the city using simulation techniques. In this work, we propose to create a city-scale traffic simu-lation for the Quito case. The study includes the analysis of carbon emissions. This study is a computationally expensive task. Thus, we execute our experiments using distributed and High-Performance Computing (HPC) techniques to enable this computation. The simulation shows that it is feasible to reproduce large-scale scenarios to support urban mobility policies and emissions problem insights.
