Distributed Generation Impact in a Microgrid: Case Study El Valle-Cuenca

Abstract:

The paper analyzes the impact on a low voltage distribution network after including photovoltaic panels installed in homes of residential users living in rural areas. For which a model of the distribution network was developed on the Matlab / Simulink platform integrating data on energy consumption and solar radiation obtained from real measurements, the model allows varying the percentage of photovoltaic panels and the load (maximum or minimum ) connected to the network, in the same way, it allows observing the variability of the parameters of the network such as the load level of the transformer, the real power supplied by the transformer, the power factor, the voltage at the farthest bus, losses power and power injected into the grid.As it is a network with low energy consumption, solar panels cover up to 100% of the load, while 80% of users install a 230 W solar panel in their homes.
