Diversidad y abundancia de macro y meso mamíferos (Clase: Mammalia) en dos zonas con distintos grados de perturbación en el Humedal Ramsar Abras de Mantequilla (Los Ríos-Ecuador) durante marzo a diciembre del 2016

Abstract:

This work was developed in the Wetlands of Abras de Mantequilla located in the canton Vinces, province of Los Rios, which had as objective to determine the diversity and abundance of macro and meso mammals in two zones with different degree of disturbance located within the Ramsar Wetland. For the field phase, two sampling zones were established with varying degrees of disturbance, where techniques such as direct and indirect observation were used. Twelve species belonging to 12 genera and 9 families were observed with a sampling effort of 120 hours. Diversity was estimated through the Shannon Index, which was calculated by means of platforms such as BiodiversityPro and diversity and richness species, having as a result that Shannon's diversity was of h ' = 1.88 (I.C. 90% = 1.44 – 2.08) in zone 1, while zone 2 h ' = 1.21 (I.C. 90% = 0.84-1.43). We calculated the curves of accumulation of species, using the estimates platform, calculating this curve showed us that despite having a significant sampling effort, the number of species of mammals is very low and the curve of abundance range, for this, we used the program Excel, the same that showed us that the dominant species of the zones were A. palliata, in the disturbed area, and S. stramineus, in the undisturbed area. As for the state of conservation, we found the presence of species that are in vulnerable category (VU) as Lontra longicaudis, in Danger (in) as Odocoileus virginianus Peruvianus and A. palliata, which can be considered as objects of conservation. Both areas presented a diversity of species and abundances of low mammals, being the main cause the fragmentation of the forest, so it is concluded that within the area under study there is direct and indirect directing, so it is recommended, to work in the tea of ecological corridors.
