Donald Roy
Abstract:
Donald Roy, who set up one of the earliest British Drama Departments at the University of Hull, made several significant contributions to nineteenth-century theatre scholarship, which included an edited volume of the plays of JR Planché and editorial responsibility for the volume Romantic and Revolutionary Theatre 1789–1860 in the Cambridge University Press series Theatre in Europe: A Documentary History. He was also responsible for the section on French theatre in that volume. He also published on the provincial repertory of the Hull theatre in the nineteenth century.
