Abstract:

This paper aimed to draw up a situation assessment of The Language Department of the University of the Armed Forces ESPE, and based thereto, to propose a strategic alignment, through a prospective analysis generating proposals for the improvement of service to internal and external users with a high level of quality and prestige. In order to achieve this objective, first it has made a review of the state of the art in language teaching at national and international level, then presenting a historical overview of the Department of Languages and its role in language teaching in the country. Subsequently, we conducted a situational analysis of the academic unit, the subject of this research, to highlight its position on the level of language teaching in Ecuador.
