Dynamic reduced model and stochastic aspects for PFGM curved beams with variable curvature

Abstract:

In this paper a new 1D finite element model for dynamic calculations of PGFM curved beams with variable curvature is developed. The reduced high-speed calculation model allows stochastic aspects in the dynamic of the structure to be evaluated through recursive methods, as shown at the end of the present work with Monte Carlo. The reduced model incorporates shear flexibility and variable curvature, and serves as a mean deterministic reference. Parametric uncertainty is taken into account through different model parameters, such as curvature variation, porosity and functional graded law. A number of scenarios are evaluated in order to identify the parameter sensitivity. Also the reduced model is contrasted with different more complex models for validation.
