Dynamics of the teaching-learning process in Higher Education: an approach to the holistic configurational competency approach


Abstract:

In this article, an epistemological approach on the dynamics of the teaching-learning process in Higher Education based on holistic configurational competencies is done. The competency-based approach focuses on the student, and as Comenio says, it is a paedocentric approach, because it is the student who must be competent. The emphasis is on putting in practice the expected learning rather than on content and it focuses on self-knowledge management, which recognizes that knowledge is the main source for creating values. It allows students to find social meaning and usefulness to learning, which encourages and prepares them to be independent in life and work.
