EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE AND WELFARE OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN TIMES OF COVID-19


Abstract:

Faced with the pandemic outbreak of Covid-19, Ecuadorian universities ensure the continuity of teaching-learning activities by implementing distance education or virtual teaching didactic models. The efforts and results achieved, confirm the advantages of this conception, while identifying the need to prioritize attention to the psychological conflicts that affect the well-being of students in the face of the demands of the learning process and the psychological effects of the virus. The evidence of a group of teachers from the Technical University of Babahoyo became a topic of mandatory reflection and search for proposals and solutions. The results of this project are disseminated in this work with the objective of identifying the educational orientation alternatives that, from the teaching-learning activities, can be carried out to contribute to the students’ wellbeing. An exploratory study supported by the methodology of systematization of the reflections and work experiences developed by the authors, assumes as a reference, the relevance of the guiding intervention of the teacher in the understanding and the change of attitude of the students before the imprint of Covid-19. In this sense, this project declares the precisions that must be assumed from the university context.
