ENERGY AND BIM CERTIFICATION. CASE STUDY HOSPITAL UNIVERSITARIO DE JAÉN
Abstract:
The relative requirements on energy certification of buildings established in Directive 2002/91/EC, replaced by Directive 2010/31/EU, and recently amended by Directive (EU) 2018/844, were transposed into Spanish legislation through Royal Decree 47/2007, which was consolidated by Royal Decree 235/2013, which states that buildings occupied by a public authority must obtain an energy efficiency certificate, when their total useful area exceeds 250 m2. On the other hand, Directive 2014/24/EU, on public contracting, transposed to Spanish legislation through Law 9/2017, on Public Sector Contracts, establishes that, for public contracts for works, services and project competitions, contracting bodies may require the use of specific electronic tools, such as digital information modeling tools for construction (BIM). BIM is a collaborative work methodology for the management of building projects through a digital model, which allows these projects, throughout their life cycle, to be more efficient and sustainable. In this work, the interoperability between the official energy certification tools and the BIM is studied for a hospital building.
