Abstract:

The estimation of dental age refers to the determination and quantification of the events that occur during the growth and development processes, which generally have a constant sequence. General Objective: To determine which radiographic method described is the most specific for estimating dental age, in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. Methodology: Descriptive cross-sectional study, 884 digital panoramic radiographs from 5 to 13 years old from the Centro Radiológico de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca were analyzed, in the period 2016-2018. Results: The Demirjian Method was found to be more accurate in estimating chronological age in girls. Conclusion: The results of this investigation allowed us to know that both applied methods help precision in the estimation of dental age for the entire sample studied. It was found that there is no statistical association between sex and dental age. Dental age according to chronological age.
