Economic planning management of plantain, Zulia state, Venezuela
Abstract:
Economic planning management includes the maximization of economic performance, the provision of quality services at lower cost and greater efficiency and effectiveness. Banana growers have maintained over time, but it is necessary and urgent to contribute to achieving a better standard of living with their families. For this reason, the management of economic planning in banana cultivation of the producers of the Francisco Javier Pulgar municipality, Zulia state, Venezuela, was evaluated through economic planning criteria. The type of research was explanatory, with a non-experimental field design. The population was made up of 132 producers. The sample corresponded to 98 producers. A socio-economic questionnaire was designed and applied as a measurement instrument. The variable object of study was the management of economic planning. The multivariate analysis made it possible to classify banana producers into four groups. Production units of less than 10 hectares had the highest frequency. The producers showed little technical criteria, without programs for agricultural practices, nor for the management of Black Sigatoka, without technical assistance or organization. Producers did not consider the criteria of economic planning, most did not plan or keep records and banana marketing was controlled by intermediaries. It is suggested to establish participative programs of managerial development with the producers and all the sectors involved.
