Economic study of the national private radio of Ecuador through an expert system of financial analysis vertical method


Abstract:

As a means of communication, the radio has been providing communicational content to millions of homes for over a hundred and ten years through the radio spectrum. In this time, it has assumed different forms according to its property, objectives and audience, which each country has defined from its own laws. Within this framework, the present investigation addresses the economic study of the national private radio of Ecuador, which is defined by the Communication Law (2013) as a natural or legal person of private law with or without profit, whose purpose is the provision of communication services with social responsibility (Art. 84). Thus, this commercial medium seeks an economic revenue for communicational activity. In addition, it fulfills the transcendental functions of informing, educating-culturing, guiding, raising awareness, contributing to national construction; entertain, promote and advertise, which reflects its relevance and the importance of its economic sustainability. In this context, the study of the economic statements of seventeen national private radio companies in Ecuador is presented, through the application of an expert system of vertical method financial analysis of liquidity, solvency, management and profitability factors. Which allows a diagnosis of the economic situation.
